Speech-to-Speech is a Service for
People with a Speech Disability

If you have a speech disability and live in the USA. you can now use a free telephone relay service, available 24 hours a day. This service is similar to the TDD service available to the hearing disabled except that it doesn't’ require typing.

This service, called Speech-to-Speech (STS), provides communication assistants (CA's) for people with difficulty being understood by the public on the telephone. It is available for business, medical, and personal communication.

STS is available in all 50 states, plus the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Australia, New Zealand Sweden. STS is easy to use and available from every phone and does not require registering to use.

Just pick up the phone and dial 711 and request a Speech-to-Speech Operator. Your family, friends and business acquaintances can call you and use the STS services just as easily.  There are both training videos and a list of the Speech-to-Speech numbers for you to view.  Just click on the links listed to your left.

This web site is maintained by Speech Communication Assistance by Telephone, Inc (SCT).  We are a nonprofit organization (501c3) dedicated to helping people with speech disabilities learn to use the telephone with the assistance of Speech-to-Speech.
