SENTIENT SOLUTIONS LIMITED, ANNOUNCES INDUSTRY LEADING
ASSISTED VOICE SERVICE
Innovative technology provides a “New Voice” to people with speech disabilities.
FOR RELEASE: TUESDAY, MAY 15, 2007
Andover, N.J. - Sentient Solutions Limited today introduced a unique calling service that provides a simple way for individuals with speech disabilities to place telephone calls.
The new service, called SitrisTM, is an innovative Web-based assistive service for placing telephone calls that- allows users to select a high quality natural voice which can be customized to fit their unique personality. Initial responses from actual users indicate that Sitris provides them with a renewed sense of confidence, independence and complete privacy when using the telephone.
With more than 2 million Americans living with a range of vocal disabilities, Sitris is uniquely suited to benefit persons with Cerebral Palsy (CP), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), laryngectomees, a stroke, brain trauma, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), motor neuron disease, or anyone who struggles to be understood when using the telephone.
The Sitris Breakthrough
Sitris’ innovative and proprietary technology offers an easy-to-use Web interface designed to allow a fluid conversation by people with a speech-limiting disability. To use the service, a subscriber accesses the Sitris platform via any Internet connection, including dial-up, DSL or WiFi. Upon registering at www.mysitris.com, a user can select from a variety of voices that reflect his or her personality. To place a telephone call, Sitris creates a “conference call” between the Sitris speech engine, the users’ telephone, and the party being called. The user then easily selects words or phrases, or types sentences that Sitris immediately converts to the caller’s unique voice. No software download, no installation, it’s all accessed through the browser allowing the Sitris user to place calls from any Web access point. For added clarity or emphasis, Sitris recognizes common grammatical punctuation (e.g., commas, periods, question marks and exclamation points, etc.), and the Sitris voice responds accordingly for a natural, conversational flow.
Sitris provides several levels of monthly service that will accommodate the needs of any user. Beginning at $9.95 per month, Sitris offers 100 minutes of local and national calling to land-based telephones or cell phones, and since the service calls the Sitris user, there are no additional charges. While online, Sitris also allows unlimited in-room conversations, such as a meeting or other face to face conversation.
Derek Corcoran, CEO of Sentient Solutions, Ltd., states, “We believe SitrisTM will transform the way people view assistive technology and how its delivery over the Web can enhance a person’s independence, privacy and even help eliminate any potential employment barriers.“
